There are screenshots now

Every game page used to have two dashed grey boxes on it reading “Screenshot coming soon.” They are gone. There are real screenshots in their place.

Getting them was more involved than it sounds. The machine that builds this site is a Raspberry Pi in a cupboard with no monitor and no GPU, which is a poor position from which to photograph a first-person shooter. So Melee was rendered in software, one frame at a time, by a headless browser that had to be told to click “play,” walk forward for 1.2 seconds, and look slightly to the right before it would show anything worth keeping.

Landlord and Acres are behind a sign-in, so they needed an account. There is now a user called Screenshots who owns one duplex, one field, and no ambition.

The Melee shot has Kills 0 and Deaths 0 in the corner. That is honest. Nobody else was in the arena.
